Lady Lysa gathered up the long skirts of her gown and, surrounded by her attendants, advanced slowly toward Domeric. He bowed and, according to the forms of courtesy, kissed the back of her hand.

“Lady Lysa, your beauty puts even the stars of this night to shame.”

Domeric offered the empty compliment without a flicker of shame, recycling the very words he had used moments earlier for the Stark sisters. Facing a woman so little deserving of them, however, filled him with a strong urge to be sick. He forced himself to continue.
