Albar hesitated for a moment. In truth he knew very little of Lady Lysa Tully; she was almost a stranger to him. For years the lady had remained in King’s Landing at the side of the old Lord Arryn. Only a little more than two months earlier, after the old lord returned to the gods, had she brought her son back to the Eyrie. Albar could not quite grasp the meaning behind the highborn bastard’s words; Mya Stone seemed to hold a deep prejudice against Lady Lysa.

“Mya, what do you mean by all this? Lady Lysa is, after all, the one to whom we have sworn our lives.”

“Nothing of great weight. Only that, throughout the history of the Vale, no weak ruler has ever held the seat of its kings securely in times of chaos. It may not be long before the Vale itself changes masters.”
