Chapter 138

Ahsoka had a headache dealing with the enemy’s endless reinforcements. Combat droids had practically piled up across the entire corridor, with stormtroopers behind them pouring out fire like maniacs. The route to the stairwell was completely blocked, and the elevators were still ferrying more troops up in waves.

“We have to get to the next level—now!” Ahsoka shouted to Veronica from behind cover.

“I know—push down fifty levels!” Veronica yanked a small spherical bomb from her pack and, without even opening her eyes, hurled it straight into the pile of droids. When the beeping ended, the sphere released an invisible pulse. The clustered droids all went limp at once, collapsing into a heap of scrap—some even started burning. The corridor lights abruptly died.
