To avoid the councilwoman’s surveillance and find a decent clinic, Allen and the crew fled Japantown and took refuge in the bustling district of Watson.
Watson had once been an overlooked part of the city. Its rise to prosperity could be traced back to the end of the Fourth Corporate War. During that time, Johnny Silverhand detonated a nuke inside Arasaka Tower, wiping out much of the city center. Refugees poured into Watson, and thanks to their efforts, the district quickly grew—eventually surpassing its pre-war economic standing.
But good times didn’t last forever. After two or three decades of reconstruction, the rest of Night City came back to life, and Watson began to decline. Still, the influx of immigrants chasing their dreams helped the district retain a vibrant, chaotic energy.
