In the Year 259 AC, King Aegon V Targaryen—seeking to celebrate the birth of his great-grandson Rhaegar Targaryen—held a grand feast at Summerhall. Royal family members, noble lords, ladies, and Kingsguard knights all attended.
During this feast, the king presented seven dragon eggs, honoring the Seven. He hired pyromancers to hatch the eggs with wildfire. But the flames spiraled out of control, erupting into a catastrophe that burned alive nearly all the royal family and noble guests present.
This was the infamous Tragedy of Summerhall.
