Karl’s original plan after coming to space had been to leave the moon and visit the Highriders’ colony, to meet the elder Asia and the others had spoken of. At the time, they still needed to use the Highriders’ channel to enter the Crystal Palace.

But after receiving the angels’ tacit approval—given as repayment of sorts—and completing the handoff for the mission, Karl and the others obtained a way to enter the Crystal Palace openly and legitimately. That meant they no longer needed the Highriders’ channel.

Even so, Karl still intended to visit the colony. After all, being able to meet an elder and discuss matters concerning the ESA was something he believed the other party would be interested in. But after Asia and the others sent their report back, things took a new turn. Once that elder confirmed the intelligence about the angels was true, and learned that Karl and the others had actually defeated an angel, he decided to come meet them in person.
