By the third day after Karl and the others arrived at the lunar colony, they had already entered the outer area around the abandoned industrial zone in the western district.

This place was a completely different world from Central Gorge. The dome hung low overhead, and there was no sun to be seen. Most of the area was buried deep into the cliffs and walls of the gorge. The lighting was mostly dead, with only scattered glimmers from damaged equipment casting mottled shadows.

The murky air was thick with machine oil, rusted iron, chemicals, and a faint, lingering stench.
