Under Militech’s assault, the heavily armed Estevez and his bodyguards only held out for a short while. The final gunman stubbornly resisting fell beneath an unending barrage of fire. The ballistic armor across his chest had been shredded, while malfunctioning electrical sparks continuously erupted from inside his body.

Compared to their equipment, this Militech squad was the one truly armed to the teeth. Many of them wore heavy, fully enclosed helmets, and their armor did not look much lighter than an equal volume of solid iron. Every one of them was practically a mobile human fortress.

Their combat boots struck the ground with heavy, muffled thuds.
